Some news sources are more truthful than others. We hear from them lots of complaints, and what they say fits in well with what we’d understand to be the thoughtful person’s perception of unfolding events. Their interpretations have the ring of truth in their consistency, lack of contradiction and depth of presentation. They present answers that give decent insights into the hows and whys of what’s going on.
But the answers don’t go deep enough. Rarely will they focus on the top-level causes of what we see taking place. The real answers aren’t easy to digest – they involve uncomfortable introspection into how we ourselves have contributed to the debacle taking place before us. But the only way we can extricate ourselves from the mess we’ve gotten into is to understand the honest truth of the matter.
But in getting to where we are now, we got a whole lot of help from our trusted institutions.
On top of all that, the natural world seems to be rising up against us.
I’ll have a lot more to say about all these problems later.
Where is all this heading? The path is right in front of us, but to see it we need to have our blinders removed. Answers are here, but the ones that count have been hidden from us by lesser speculations that have distorted our focus.
It will take some background information to get to the real answers. It begins with a reflection on our past.
The specific problems we face today started a long time ago, at least as far back as the middle of the nineteenth century. In 1859 Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution was first published to the explosive acclaim of the intellectual community. Back then our knowledge of biology was primitive. Scientists at the time assumed that a cell was simply a jelly-filled rind. This superficial understanding permitted our scientists to agree with Darwin that his theory was indeed valid.
This apparently benign approval immediately challenged the relevance of God to creation and proceeded from there to question whether God did indeed oversee the affairs of everyday life. Darwin entered the world stage at a unique time of rapid advances in science and mankind’s increasing control over his environment. Polite society at the time, prone to worshiping the human brain at the expense of God was more than ready to pounce on an excuse to write God out of human events, and, despite the numerous flaws in the theory, they found it in his assertion that natural selection provided a workable creative alternative to God.
At about the same time or perhaps even earlier, the Christian-oriented universities in America like Harvard and Yale, which were originally intended for the education and training of future pastors, became infected with challenges to biblical faith. Many of these questionable concepts were imported from Europe, most notably from the German School of Higher Criticism. Although these intellectually-appealing ideas were later uncovered for the frauds they actually were, the damage they did to faith in America is incalculable. Ironically, much of this disgusting garbage was debunked by an uneducated shepherd named Ahmed the Wolf, who in boredom hurled a rock into a cave, thereby uncovering what is now known as the Dead Sea Scrolls. The result of this indoctrination into falsehoods is that numerous pastors emerged from these universities and seminaries and proceeded from there to undercut the faith of their Church congregants.
Our biggest problem, the beginning of all the enormous problems we have before us, started with our collective rejection of our Judeo-Christian God.
In their attempt to warn us that our continued rejection of God won’t end well, some watchmen have given us amazing insights into how God remains in absolute control. Jonathan Cahn comes first to mind. The various books written by this Messianic Jew, including The Harbinger, The Harbinger II, The Oracle, The Mystery of the Shemitah and The Paradigm, describe amazing parallels between ancient and modern Israel and modern America. There are others:
I wolld like to see this expanded – more on the failed Theory of Evoluution. Let’s see something on Irreducible complexxity. There was a colon at the end of the last paragraph. Was there going to be more?.
